Help & common questions
What is the difference between refurbished and second-hand?+
A second-hand Mac is sold as it is. An iz fix refurbished Mac has been inspected on more than 50 points by a technician, cleaned, wiped, given a fresh macOS install, had its battery measured (cycle count and capacity shown on the listing), and comes with a 12-month warranty.
What does the 12-month warranty cover?+
Any technical fault arising from normal use: logic board, screen, keyboard, ports, audio, webcam, faulty battery. Parts, labour and carriage to and from our workshop are on us. It does not cover accidental damage, oxidation, liquid damage, cosmetic wear or normal battery wear.
Can I extend the warranty?+
Yes. 12 months are included with every Mac. On the listing, in your basket or at checkout, you can extend it to 24 months (8% of the Mac's price, €50 minimum) or 36 months (14%). Same cover and exclusions as the included warranty: it is not insurance against accidental damage or theft.
Can I choose the keyboard layout?+
Yes. Each listing shows the layouts available for that machine (French AZERTY, UK and US QWERTY, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German QWERTZ and others). The keyboard is fitted in our workshop before dispatch, with genuine Apple keys.
Is the battery new?+
Not always: we measure the cycle count and the capacity of every battery in our workshop, and each listing shows them as they are. You know what battery life to expect before you buy.
Which version of macOS is installed?+
The most recent version of macOS that the model supports, cleanly installed. Apple's updates remain free.
Does the Mac come with a charger?+
Yes. A compatible charger is in every parcel, together with an invoice stating the warranty.
How can I pay?+
At checkout we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Revolut Pay, PayPal. With Klarna, you can pay in 3 interest-free instalments, for a purchase from €35 to €1,500, subject to Klarna's approval: choose Klarna on the payment page, and it shows you the schedule before you confirm. No card details pass through our servers: they go straight to the payment provider.
In which currency am I charged?+
In euros, always. Sterling amounts shown on the site are an indication, converted at a rate we set by hand, so you can judge the price at a glance. Your bank may apply its own conversion and charges.
Where do you deliver, and how long does it take?+
We dispatch within one working day of payment. We deliver within France and the European Union; delivery to a Chronopost pickup point in France is free, and a UPS pickup point elsewhere in the EU costs €10. We do not currently ship outside the EU, the United Kingdom included. Charges and lead times for each destination are on the delivery and returns page.
Can I return the Mac if I change my mind?+
Yes. You have 14 days from receipt to withdraw, without giving reasons. The Mac must come back in the condition you received it, with its accessories, signed out of your Apple Account. The refund is in full.
Can I collect my order from the workshop?+
No: our workshops are not open to visitors. Orders are shipped to a pickup point (free in France) or to your home.
Can a business reclaim the VAT?+
Usually not: our refurbished Macs are sold under the second-hand margin scheme, so no reclaimable VAT appears on the invoice. We can make the invoice out to your company. Tell us before you order if reclaimable VAT matters to you, and we will say whether a given machine allows it.
Do you buy old Macs?+
Yes, faulty ones included. On the sell-your-Mac page, the price of a MacBook or iPad appears straight away; for any other Mac, a free valuation within one working day. The amount can be set against a purchase.
Do you offer gift cards?+
Yes, from €20 to €1,000, on the gift card page. It is sent by email as soon as payment goes through (to the recipient, with your message), stays valid for a year and is used on the website in one go or several, across the whole range.
